How much money Apex Legends made?

How much money Apex Legends made?

Apex Legends is a free-to-play title, which means it relies heavily on in-game purchases for cosmetics and loot boxes to pay its servers, developers, and recoup the cost of the game itself.
Apex has been a flying success since its launch in February, quickly gaining momentum thanks in part to a smart, coordinated effort on Twitch.
The game was a complete mystery project till its future reveal and same-day unleash last month.

But how much has the game exactly made?

In the game’s first month of release, Apex Legends reportedly made over $90 million from in-game spending across all platforms. The majority of the revenue apparently came from console gamers.

Despite this, one of EA’s more recent games, Anthem, apparently made more than Apex Legends when it comes to digital revenue.

Apex’s monthly take is almost certainly less than Fortnite’s—and a lot less at that. Epic Games, Fortnite’s developer, made $126 million off the game in February of 2018, $223 million in March, and $296 million in April. In total, Epic brought in an estimated $2.8 billion in profit in 2018.

Since Fortnite’s popularity has only slightly fluctuated since then, it goes without saying that Apex still has a long way to go to challenge the battle royale king.

Apex Legends has the best launch month of any free-to-play game in history

Apex Legends has been one of the quickest growing battle royale games to ever hit the market. The fast-paced, team-oriented gameplay with its unique characters have made it one of the most popular video games out right now.

In fact, Apex had the best launch month of any free-to-play video game in history, according to SuperData Research. “Apex Legends generated an estimated $92 million from in-game spending across all platforms, with the majority coming from console,” SuperData said.

Respawn Entertainment actually took a huge gamble with how it marketed Apex. By leaning on Twitch streamers and YouTubers like Tyler “Ninja” Blevins and Michael “shroud” Grzesiek, the game got an unprecedented amount of exposure. These high-level players showcased the infinite amount of possibility and potential this game had, and it showed in the player base numbers for the first month.

In three days, Respawn tweeted that it had over 10 million players worldwide on Apex. In comparison, Fortnite needed around two weeks to hit the same player numbers. By the end of February, there were over 50 million players on King’s Canyon battling it out to become Apex Champion.

With the release of the game’s highly-anticipated Battle Pass, Apex’s numbers should keep rising. Players were already buying a ton of cosmetics with Apex coins, but the pass put a big charge in those numbers as well. We’ll have to see if Respawn can keep the hype for Apex from dying down too quickly as time goes on.

Everything to know about the Apex Legends Battle Pass

Season one in all Apex Legends is upon US, and fans have finally received the primary Battle Pass.
But since it’s the first of its kind, many may be asking—how does the Battle Pass work?
Shortly when the game’s unleash in Feb, Respawn Entertainment revealed its 2019 roadmap for Apex.
The roadmap previewed the four seasons and their rewards over the course of the year, with the first season beginning in March.

Seasons can last for about 3 months every and can bring distinctive seasonal rewards to Apex players.
The battle pass includes weapon and legends skins, intro quips, banners, and Apex packs that players can earn by leveling up. The pass goes up to level 100, and players can earn additional XP by playing different legends and earning a character bonus.

Players will be limited in what items they can unlock through normal play, but purchasing a Battle Pass will grant players the chance to earn all of the rewards, around 100 different items, for that season. Players will get to keep all of the rewards they’ve earned over the course of a season once it ends.
The Battle Pass costs 950 Apex coins—around $10. Players can also purchase a bundle for 2,800 coins, which unlocks the first 25 levels of the pass and all of its rewards for those levels.

To purchase a Battle Pass, players can venture to the store tab at the top of the game’s lobby screen, pick up some Apex coins, and head on over to the Battle Pass tab to buy it.
